Zoning
The zoning ordinance was designed to conserve taxable
values of land and buildings, reduce street congestion and promote the public safety,
morals and welfare. It does this by regulating building height and setbacks,
classifying and regulating the location of uses into zones (such as residential,
business, and manufacturing) and by prohibiting some uses of buildings which
may be incompatible with the neighborhood's character. The ordinance regulates
fences and how close you can build to your property
line.
